SENATOR JINNGOY ESTRADA GRACES 25TH TUNA FESTIVAL OPENING
Sen. Jinggoy Estrada graces 25th Tuna Festival Opening
In his message, Senator Estrada expressed his gratitude towards the Generals for their warm welcome, as well as their continual support for him as a politician. The Senator also congratulated the city for its conduct of the 25th Tuna Festival, saying, “Hindi natin maipagkakaila ang kahalagahan ng industriya ng tuna sa lungsod ng Heneral Santos. Hindi lamang ito hinubog ang lokal na ekonomiya, simbolo rin ito ng inyong determinasyon, pagsusumikap, at pagbabago ng inyong lungsod.”
Aside from the commendation, Senator Estrada also told the audience about the projects that he has helped with for the importance of the city such as the construction of community parks, repairs and improvements of gyms, and construction and completion of multi-purpose buildings. The Senator also mentioned that he will donate 5 million PHP in order to provide free medicine to those who need them, as well as another 5 million PHP through the TUPAD program to help those in need.
Accompanying Senator Estrada were City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo-Pacquiao, First Gentleman Alberto “Bobby” Pacquiao, Former Senator Manny Pacquiao, Congressman of the Lone District of General Santos Atty. Loreto Acharon, and Marianne Kristel Dela Rosa-Estoesta to represent her father, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
City Mayor Pacquiao also extended her gratitude towards Senators Estrada and Dela Rosa for their support for General Santos City. The local chief executive also assured the public and said, “Makakaasa kayo na hanggang nandito ako, mananatili ang mabuting layunin ng lokal na pamahalaan para sa kapakanan ng taong bayan.”
